A Crested Shrike Tit (Falcunculus frontatus) has become a welcome and regular visitor to the property of New Springs Landcare group member Hayden Schulz.

Hayden believes the trick has been a safe and readily accessible bird bath, shallow enough to be safe, but deep enough to prevent rapid evaporation.

He’s been lucky enough to capture a couple of photos of this elusive little girl, perched on the bird bath, with a friendly little New Holland Honeyeater (Phylidonyris novaehollandiae) nearby.

Fun fact – males have a black bib, whereas females are olive green.
